I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
